In search of Live music in Barcelona..

Hello Musicians and music lovers...,

So here starts my adventure. Today is the 4th of January 2011. I am currently living in Arguineguin in Gran Canaria.  Although I love this place I have some specific reasons to move to Barcelona for at least two months. My girlfriend is from Barcelona and we are going to be mum and dad pretty soon. Yes! We gonna’ have a baby!

The doctor predicts our little baby girl to be born on the 22 of April. Of course, this – having a baby - being an adventure in itself we also both leave our jobs behind in order to be close to our families when the baby is due. For Erika that’s not really an issue right now as she is going to focus on having the baby. But I’m left scratching my hair a little…

I am living as a musician here in Gran Canaria. I play live music in bars and hotels and have my things in order here. Life is good.. sunshine, a beautiful ocean and a lot of tourist places with live music on the menu!

However in just 2 months time I’m going to enter the Barcelona Arena and I have no idea where to start in order to find enough gigs before I get there.

Of course I searched the web a little and found bits and pieces of info, but It has already taken me a lot of time to gather it. With this blog I want to share whatever information that I have found and invite everyone with a passion for music to help out and share any information they may have about locations in Barcelona to play live music, any helpful contacts, anything you think of that might help. And hopefully I won’t have to make this journey on my own and musician all around will share the wealth of knowledge that is floating out there. :-)
